Performing artist, producer, and composer JIMMY GIANNOPOULOS has his hand in several projects that take him all over the world, moving from studio to stage and back again.
Best known as one-third of Lolawolf, Brooklyn-based pop project fronted by Zoë Kravitz, Giannopoulos produced the band’s debut LP, Calm Down, which was released last year on Innit Recordings. Calm Down is the follow-up to Lolawolf’s critically acclaimed five-song debut EP released in early 2014, which Pitchfork described as "surging electronic pop" and Neon Gold called: "a perfect piece of distinctive, melody-driven, back-to-the-future synth candy.” Lolawolf tours frequently and furiously, opening for Miley Cyrus and Lily Allen this past year.
In addition to his work in Lolawolf, Giannopoulos produces, writes for, and/or plays in a seemingly countless list of excellent bands, including (but not limited to) Reputante (whose debut EP, Oceanside, came out in 2013 on Julian Casablancas’ Cult Records), MOTHXR (with Penn Badgley -- album out this year on Washington Square and Kitsuné) and "G" (featuring the delightful Genevieve -- hear it on Stereogum).
When he's not doing all that (aka, when any normal person would be sleeping) Giannopoulos is also a screenwriter, director, and maker of frequently hilarious Instagram videos.
